Another product that I’ve recently been incorporating into my PM skincare routine. The Bonajour Extreme Spot Serum contains 73% Centella asiatica extract which claims to help with skin healing and soothing. It also contains hydrating and brightening ingredients such as snail mucin extract, niacinamide, black willow bark extract, and aminobutyric acid. In terms of my thoughts, I feel it is super hydrating and my skin feels like it gets a big drink of water with this serum. However, I feel the brightening effects are minimal so far. I have not noticed brightening or lightening of my acne scars from this but I will continue to use it for hydration purposes (and my skin texture feels smooth too). In terms of brightening, my vitamin c serum does more heavy lifting than this.

@BONAJOUR I have been using the extreme spot treatment now for a few weeks. it claims to repair, soothe, brighten and whiten. I have found that it is moisturizing, and does not have a smell. I don't mind this because sometimes fragrance added into skincare can cause irritation. this is a serum so should be used as such. there is 73% of snail mucus in this serum. snail mucus does wonders for the skin (I typically do not use products with snail mucus for my own reasons) also contains niacinamide which brightens. it has a thin gel like consistency and leaves a kind of sticky after feeling. I do think it's a good product but I would not purchase again. nothing about this really "wowed" me. also I don't like to use snail mucus. (for my own reason) but I so think this could work for others

Also, cannot detect any scent from it. . 🌿I didn't really have any issues with the product while testing it out for the week. I was pretty scared in trying it out, since I didn't realize how this product contained snail extract (I've had bad allergic reactions to snail products in the past), but I actually didn't get any irritation at all (so I'm guessing it has really low concentrations of it). All in all, I just found this really soothing and hydrating. Despite its thickness, molecularly it feels lightweight & blends invisibly into the rest of my skin care routine. I appreciate the Bonajour line for being moderately priced. What's in it: 🌿 Centella Asiatica (aka Cica) 73% What it does: 🌿 Clears, soothes, and brightens The serum has a watery consistency with no noticeable fragrance. I found the instructions funny/confusing because it specified to not use on scars, but I did anyway since those were the specific "spots" I wanted to test this on (whoops?). I experienced a slight tingling sensation upon the first few uses, which was to be expected. After a few weeks, I've noticed slight improvement in those areas. I'll continue to use this in hopes to see more long term effects. Overall, I've loved all products I've tried from this brand so far.

Each time I applied 1-2 pumps on my lower jaw, which is the acne flare up area. I had the opportunity to try the extreme spot serum at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review. I have very dry skin, and am not prone to acne, but there are times when I need a spot treatment. I found the ingredients of snail and centella extract to have some great soothing properties, and the gel substance felt nice on my skin. This would be a nice product to aid with acne, due to the inclusion of willow bark extract. Overall, another great product by Bonajour!

I have a lot of hormonal acne and problems with facial hair. As a result I also have some scaring. It's embarassing and is the main reason I wear heavy foundation. This product has been a welcome addition to my daily skincare ritual because it is helping to treat existing acne, prevent future breakouts and reduce my scars. As you can see in my before and after pictures, this stuff is pretty powerful! If my skin has cleared up this much in only a few weeks, I'm excited to see what it will look like in a few months! First things first: I'm acne prone, and boy is it a pain in my ass. Nothing sucks more than working hard on your skin, and having a pretty good complexion overall, when a string of breakouts mars your face. It's awful. My skin is definitely in a better place now than it used to be, but the fight is hard won. When I spied this little gem I knew I wanted it in my routine- it touts centella extract and snail (both great for soothing and healing), and Willow bark extract aka a naturally occurring form of salicylic acid! The serum comes housed in a sanitary pump-style bottle. The product itself is a medium-thick gel-like serum that very easily soaks into my skin. I use this about halfway through my routine, after my watery essences but before any of my thicker ampoules or creams. I've found that while using this my skin was resilient and healed well when battling breakouts. And its soothing properties are also excellent.
