I've been using some Agar Agar prefer I got to review recently and I like it! it can be used in a variety of things from cosmetic products (like DIY hair and face masks), or food like jam and jelly! also, it's used as a protection ingredient for people into witchcraft ✨💖 Agar agar is also very beneficial to bone, brain, and digestive health! Whatever you use it for, agar agar has many uses, and is definitely worth trying if you haven't! ♥️

~Product Review~ I tried LIVING JIN Agar Agar powder from 0.8L and was amazed by it's many uses and capabilities. Agar agar powder is made from seaweed–more specifically red algae–and it’s commonly used in cooking as a plant-based alternative to gelatin. It is used in many cosmetics and also a great alternative to gelatin. I made a peel-off mask and was very surprised how well it hydrated and calming it was. It's versatile, you can mix it with chamomile tea for a skin calming mask, Vitamin E for anti-aging, etc. There are TONS of recipes you can easily find online to find the best fit for you and you don't need much so it lasts a long time. I definitely recommend agar agar powder to any experimental people, you'll be very pleasantly surprised!

I received #LivingJin Agar Agar Powder at a discounted rate thanks to #08L. I recently started following the Curly Girl Method, to take care of my wavy hair. (If you hair has any wave/curl, I suggest checking this out.). I have heard of using kitchen ingredients to concoct homemade products, but I hadn't tried any of these - until now. Agar Agar has been mentioned as one of these ingredients (as a protein mask/treatment). Apparently this powder has multiple uses in the home: cooking/baking, skin care, and hair care! I can't say how it performs in the culinary applications, but I can vouch for the hair mask! I've used the mask once a week for 2 weeks, and my hair looks and feels amazing. The results last through 2 wash-days (a full week). My waves are bouncy and shiny and my hair FEELS HEALTHY, not just looks it but actually feels good. I want to try a face mask next, but I think I've found my holy grail hair mask!

The Living Jin Agar Agar Powder took longer to arrive than anticipated, so I don't feel I had as much time to experiment with it as I would have liked. The product came with a lovely note from the company founder, and I also received an email (before ever receiving the product) that included ideas for product use. I like that the product is responsibly and naturally sourced, which purportedly makes it safer for use. I have seen photos of Agar Agar used as a mask, and tried it briefly this way by mixing with water. But I have not had a chance to try it mixed with herbal tea or other antioxidant products. I tried it in a smoothie, which thickened it nicely without the inclusion of dairy. I look forward to experimenting more. Thanks to @0.8L and Living Jin for letting me try this at a reduced cost.

I grew up eating a lot of Agar Agar. It’s been my favorite jelly of all. We can basically control the firmness of the agar pudding with the amount of water added while cooking it with water or coconut milk. I like this particular brand as it’s pure agar. Most of the time they added Vanilli (vanilla in powder form). This agar lets me become more creative. I used it for meatball too. Success.

Using the agar agar to make a jelly was easy and the process was very forgiving. I'm going to have to work up to more complicated recipes like the ones included with the product, but the basic recipe was simple and I used a muffin tin as my mold! I'm going to have to scale a lot of recipes down to more manageable sizes, but I'm looking forward to trying more!

I was given the opportunity to test this for a small fee via Living Jin and .08 liter. there was no directions on the packaging, which would have been nice...but the email the company sends you helps. I mixed it accordingly and added some flavor. I chose watermelon. once it set, I tried a gummy, and it was horrible. not that it didn't set, it set...just not enough flavor. also, the consistency was a bit off. it was gelatin. I'm sure with the correct flavor, it would be good. if I was looking for a vegan alternative for gelatin, this would be it!

I got this product at a reduced testers fee in exchange for my honest opinion. but to be honest, I don't know what in the world I'm supposed to do with it. I thought it looked really healthy as a seaweed thickening gel and I thought I'd know what to do with it but it turns out, I was wrong. The recipes are really complicated and kinda expensive to make to use it so I tried to use it in my facials but it doesn't gel on my face when it dries. It makes my face feel really itchy. I don't think I'll be using this much or buying it again. I'm sorry. it's just not my cup of seaweed.

Ok so with this particular “try” you may see more people posting about food they can make with this awesome gelatin substitute. But for me it’s all about skincare and I don’t bake ! Although I love that it’s a substitute because I don’t eat any animal products at all. So I am glad I have it for that too. But for me this stuff is amazing for doing all types of masks. Today I did a tea and Manuka honey mask using the Agar Agar powder! And it worked wonderfully! Helped with my inflammation in a huge way. My face was very puffy from stress and I had been crying for days (family stuff). So this helped ! I would recommend this not just to vegans but anyone really ! It’s much healthier, I mean it’s 100% seaweed!!!! I love that ! Some facts - Agar is a vegetable gelatin agent consisting of 100% seaweed, opposed to regular gelatin which is extracted from animal bones and body parts ....it’s eco friendly, it’s healthy for you and it’s packed with fiber when eaten ! Spread the word about gelatin, how it’s made and that there’s awesome alternatives out there ! Great all natural mask made from food grade products derived from seaweed. I brewed green tea and mixed the agar agar powder and applied mask. It come off in one solid gel like piece. I was left with hydrated glowing skin

🌻Agar can be used for making homemade facial masks and food. I used this to make a mask and it works great. My little cousin and I did this together and she had a blast. This plant based gelatin can be used in various cooking methods, but it can also double as a beauty product. I tried using it as a face mask and it was an interesting experience. It's prepared the same way as you would with flavored gelatin, however, the wait time is alot shorter as it can solidify at room temperature. The mixture was applied after it was cool enough and slightly thickened, and it left my skin surprisingly soft once removed. Overall, it's a nice natural/organic option if you're into making your own face masks.

My neighbor that lives 5 houses down from me called on Thursday to say that she had a couple of packages addressed to me that had came to her house and that she would get them to me as soon as she could. I remember using agar-agar in my biology courses when we would do cultures. I am not a huge gelatin eater, so I never really found a reason why I would the vegan version, made from red algae. However, when I saw this from Living Jin (courtesy of @0.8L_USA) and how it can be used for making a peel off mask, I decided to give it a go. Living Jin's Agar Agar powder is made from 100% seaweed, non GMO and it comes in a nice resealable bag. I will say that my experience with making stuff with gelatin is quite limited so it took several attempts to figure out the ratio of liquid to powder. I not only made a "peel-off" matcha mask,but a coffee jelly drink. The "peel-off" matcha mask (mix boiling water, matcha powder, agar agar ~ let it cool down first before applying) is more of a paste to me ~ again, my ratios were probably way off. I couldn't really peel it off, but I just rinsed off the mask after 20 minutes and I did notice that this product brings little pimples to head. That was an unexpected surprise. My skin did feel soft and smooth after this. . . The coffee jelly drink was a lot more fun to make ~ just use some strong coffee, agar agar and sugar ~ let it all dissolve then pour it into a small square tupperware. Place in frig and then cut it into cubes. Take any milk or nut milk, add ice & your coffee jellies to it. You can also add a shot of espresso to the milk as well ~ add more sweetener if you wish. The jellies don't melt like ice in your milk, but slowly dissolve and will turn the milk into coffee milk. The next time I make this, I will prepare this ahead of time & leave in the frig overnight, so that the milk gets more coffee flavor. Great summer drink! . . All in all, I am not sure if agar agar powder as a skincare product is for me ~ it is fun, but man, it is a lot of work. I have seen a lot of tutorial's on the internet using Agar to make facemasks and such, and I have looked for it to buy but I couldn't find it in my local stores. So I was so excited when I saw it on 08L! But first, let me tell you about Agar Agar. Agar Agar is a vegetable gelatin substitute. with high gelling properties and a supplement for an efficient diet. Living Jin Agar is made out of 100% pure seaweed. Ok, so the first recipe I made I got of youtube and it was for a face mask. Green Tea Agar Face Mask: Ingredients: 1/2 cup Water 1tsp Agar Agar 3 Green Tea bags Bring the water to a boil in a small sauce pan and add the tea from the 3 tea bags, you can also just steep the tea if you don't want the tea leaves in the mask. Boil for 2 minutes, then off the heat add the Agar in while you wisk so you don't get any clumps. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes to cool then apply to your face. I used a mask brush but you could also use a silicone brush or even a spoon. Leave the mask on for 30 minutes then peel off. Easy peasy!👍 No need to rinse your face. I could not believe how soft my skin felt after removing this mask! I expected it to feel plump and hydrated but my skin was so soft! I also made eye mask's (pictured above) however I wasn't happy with the recipe or the way they turned out😣 I have so many more ideas for skincare using the Agar Agar and I want to use it in a food recipe too, I just need to find something I want to make that calls for gelatin. I really enjoyed playing with the Agar and making up recipes, I had so much fun.
