Shortly after receiving the Bellflower Root Set I caught COVID. I was willing to try anything to get rid of the horrible sore throat and cough. I was confused by the instructions for measuring the powder (American trying to measure 4 grams lol), so I opened a pod because it was pre measured. I was pleased to find that it was liquid. I heated some almond milk and just poured it in. The taste was different but it quickly soothed my throat and helped with the cough. It was my lifesaver.

I sampled the extract because it arrived damaged, and some of the product had leaked out. I sampled the remaining product with hot water added. The extract doesn't smell like something I'd want to consume. With water added it looks better but still smells bad. I added honey even though it's supposed to be naturally sweet. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to drink it otherwise, based on the smell. The taste is different than I expected, but not good. It's kinda like a wet potato skin flavor. I wouldn't drink this at all if not for the medicinal uses. It seemed useful during the pandemic due to claims that this product would strengthen my immune and respiratory systems. I gave this a rating of 3 out of 5. I took off 3 stars for smell and taste, both unpleasant. This stuff is really great! I love that I can use it in just about anything. It tastes great. In tea it tastes best mixed with other flavors. I added it to cookies and pancakes and I couldn't really taste it. It's definitely worth trying.

I prefer the liquid extract for taste and I am more likely to add a liquid supplement to water, seltzer, juice or tea than add a powder to food. However, I like that the root powder will last so long because it's dry, you don't have to worry about it going bad. I think if you have never tried bellflower root as a supplement, try a liquid extract or pre-blended juice rather than powder.
