Fun fact during the pandemic my bf signed us up for a Korean class. Technically I’m level 3…never got the certificate though… Anyways here’s a gochujang that I’m trying 🔥 I love making kimchi fried rice with gochujang! It’s super versatile you can even use it to make tofu soup, buddajegae (army strew), or spicy rice cake.

The product is rather disappointing I was hoping that this Korean paste would add some heat but it is very mild in terms of heat and flavor. Very thick consistency, can be used in bibimbap, noodles, and as a marinade. The product itself tastes like soy sauce mixed with chili and some other more subtle flavors in paste form. Flavor lacks depth and complexity. I recommend these to anyone interested in cooking authentic Korean dishes and experimenting with different levels of use. Had really high hopes on this, but it turned out disappointing.

The Wonkyung Food Hot Pepper Paste Sauce is spicy, delicious, and fresh! I really enjoyed the spicy kick this hot pepper paste gave my gochujang noodles. It has a savory warm flavor, and is made from healthy raw ingredients. I like that it doesn’t have any unnecessary added MSG, preservatives, and/ or coloring added. I would definitely recommend for all your healthy and spicy Korean or other food dishes.

Wonkyung sent me over this gochujang paste for me to try for free for my opinion. Gochujang is a popular Korean hot pepper paste. I use it mostly to make my husband's favorite Buldak. (fire chicken) Gochujang paste is very healthy on general, and if you like spicy food this is a very great and versatile ingredient. My surprise comes from both the color and price of this product. The one I usually buy is much more of a red color, whereas this one is more of a brown. Also, my gochujang is usually around $10-12. This one is marked at $42.65!! I don't know if perhaps there was an error in converting the Korean Won to USD. However, that is wayyy too much for gochujang paste. The flavor of this one was not on par with my current brand, and also not as spicy as I prefer. So overall, it will be used in other dishes, as I just do happen to cook a lot of Korean food at home. However, I can't say I would ever repurchase this particular paste again. I ended up serving this with fresh rice, kimchi, kongjang, and kkaennip jeon.
