Gaffer tape is made of heavy cotton cloth with a matte finish that is often used in music industry to keep cables in place, yet is also pretty handy to have around the house as it can safely used on and removed from painted walls without pulling the said paint off. One of the best things about it is that it can be torn by hand, so you don’t need to have any cutting implements handy and it’s also quite useful for photography to tape up props and accessories. I got this gigantic 55 yard roll that I‘m sure would last me quite a while, the tape itself is thick and durable with a nice non-reflective surface, was easy enough to tear and when removed it left virtually no residue behind.

It is black matte and does not reflect light. It is so easy to tear which makes it very easy to use. I don’t have to search around for my scissors. I can just tear it and apply it to whatever surface. It withstands the elements and is waterproof. I used it to repair a tear in my grill cover outside. And, when it is removed it doesn’t leave any residue behind and it comes off easily. It can be used for a wide variety of situations. I really like this tape.

It’s very popular to use for photography, filming, and/or creating, because it is non reflective and perfect for creating matte surfaces. It is also much easier to work with compared to other stickier tapes (like duct tape), and easy to reposition as needed. WithUs Korea gifted me this roll of black gaffer tape to try, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to work with. I didn’t need any scissors to rip it, and after it was removed there wasn’t any sticky residue left on the floor. I was surprised to see how strong of an adhesive it actually is, without being super sticky to the touch. I would definitely recommend for anyone interested in filming, photography, or creating in general. I also like that this particular brand has eco friendly policies, and is easily available from Amazon.
