*Update* Needed more time with this since I forgot to bring it with me during my vacation last month. The texture is similar to standard sunscreens. It had a slight white cast that eventually disappeared upon application. The only setback with this was the scent. It reminded me of Ponds cold cream. 😑

Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been absent the past few days, it’s been so rainy where I live so I haven’t been able to shoot any content 😩 - Today the sun came back, so I wanted to talk about SPF! Specifically, I want to talk about SPF in Asian Beauty products, and how it differs from the SPF that’s sold in America. ☀️ - Something I’ve noticed is that Asian Beauty products seem to always have a SPF range (15-70+), but also include a range of PA+ to PA++++. This PA rating started in Japan, and is essentially a system that measures the amount of UVA protection in a product. Similar to SPF, the lower number of +s means the lower amount of protection. There are other aspects that are taken into consideration, but UVA protection is the main area of concern. ☀️ - I’ve been using Benton’s Papaya D Sun Cream, which is SPF 38 and PA+++. The sun cream comes in a tube that I really enjoy! It’s easy to distribute the product, however, it tends to leave a white cast that I can’t rub in. I’ve used sunscreens that have left a white cast before, and I can generally rub it in after some time, but that’s not the case with this Sun Cream. Benton papaya sun cream is a chemical and physical sunscreen that can be used daily. Suitable for all skin types, and contains a slightly acidic ph. It has UVA and UVB protection from the sun. Providing skin care and protection from the sun. The texture is light and has a faint citrus scent. Comes in a 1.76 oz tube, and is a white cream but doesn't leave a "white cast." Your skin will look brighter but not white after rubbing it in completely. Some major key ingredients in this sun cream is 55% papaya water, papaya extract and seed oil, papain, Adenosine, and Niacinamide. Providing vitamins and nutrients that nourishes the skin. And that also help soothe and hydrate the skin. This daily sun cream worked really well for me. It did make my skin look a tad oily. But then again every sun cream/sunscreen I've used has made my skin look that way. Maybe because I have combination skin, who knows? The only thing that I'm concerned about is the cream being SPF38. I'm not sure if it's high enough. So make sure your reapplying it every two hours. And if you're going to be in direct sun for a long period of time, maybe just use a higher sfp sunscreen all together to be on the safe side.

This sunscreen definitely have a cream consistency, it’s a bit thick, you have to rub it in, but it’s not difficult to spread. Has a natural finish with a slight sheen, feel comfortable and moisturizing on the skin. It does brighten my skin but no white cast (I am about Mac nc25), not sure about people with darker than mine. Used it a handful of time so far, some day it does have a very slight tingly sensation which honestly make me nervous, however, so far no irritation or breakout. What I think stand out about this sun cream is the 55% papaya extract which hydrate and brighten your skin.

It has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that are great for sensitive skin. The cream is light, moist and spreads pretty easily. It provides protection all seasons and has properties that improve your complexion. The first time I applied @bentoncosmetics Papaya-D Sun Cream SPF38 PA+++ 50g, I freaked out a bit because the cast was violet at first. I thought the cast would not go away. The product said minimal cast but this was not minimal at all. But as I continued to massage the cream in the violet cast disappeared completely. I was happy because it did not take much effort to absorb even though I was a bit heavy-handed. It is moist enough that I think that only dry skin types would need a light moisturizer beneath it during warmer months. I have not had the opportunity to try during the Winter yet so I can't speak on that. It stayed on well even with constant dabbing of my face. I will definitely finish the tube. I need more time to see if it actually improves my complexion. It has definitely kept my Summer tan at bay and my hyperpigmentation has not darkened either. Would I purchase again? Possibly. I purchased the @bentoncosmetic papaya-d sun cream spf38 pa+++ at a trial fee from @0.8l_usa in exchange for my honest review. On to the claims of this product: 🔹physical & chemical sunscreen 🔹contains papaya extract which hydrates, nourishes & revitalizes the skin 🔹lightweight with minimal white cast This’ll be a first impressions review as I haven’t been able to fully test out the sunscreen. The consistency of this sunscreen is a heavy thick white cream. It states that it’s lightweight but I find it to be heavy on my oily combination skin. The sunscreen has a light fruity scent. It does have a very minimal white cast when first applied, but as it sets, it seems to fade into the skin. The finish is more of a satin finish, which would be great under foundation. This has spf38 / pa +++ and can be purchased for $16 at Benton cosmetics eBay store.

SUNSCREEN REVIEW • So... I had literally 1 day to test this Papaya-D Sun Cream. By the time it arrived to my house there was one day left for me to test it, making this a legitimate first impression • This is a very thick white cream that is very difficult to rub in. It left my face feeling very greasy and only got worse as the day went on. I cant speak on how it layers under makeup but I had no issues with pilling. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it because of how thick and greasy it is. Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream SPF 38/PA +++ Sun cream that offers sun protection and skin moisture at the same time. It uses physical and chemical sun protection against UVA rays and UVB rays. It is in fact very moisturizing cream, that allow me to skip one of my moisturizers from the routine, and that makes it so good to use. Application of sunscreen after moisturizing your face can be tricky and for worst if you have oily skin or your moisturizer is oily, the physical sunscreen ineffective as oils can interfere in it. You need to wait until all part of your routine is absorbed or... you can use this as last step. This cream gives you such nice finish and is worth to recommendation as just moisturizer that uses papaya extract to vitalize you skin (Carica Papaya Friut Water, Carica Papaya Seed Oil, Carica Papaya Fruit Extract) plus Niacinamide and Adenosine. It is mixed sun cream that I tried on my 6 years old son and his skin did not had any reaction for chemical sunscreens used here. There is very little white cast that disappear after few pats and the scent is super low there, citrusy natural and pleasant. It is SPF 38/PA+++ which is not the highest but effective amount of protection. It is recommended to reapply every 2-3 hours. I use another low SPF sunscreen on top, only physical one that has tint to it as my foundation almost and the combo works like magic (about that soon). Overall I did not expect to like it so much. I can see how much everyone in my family are eager to use it and that gives it all thumbs up. There's a slight pleasant citrus fragrance ( fyi: essential oil is in ingredient list). ... I'm indoors with air-conditioning most of the day & i don't feel any stickiness or greasiness. However, when i was outside for a long period of time walking my puppy, i did feel slight greasy (I'm in a very humid environment). 💚 Final thought: I like this. I would recommend this for Dry skin especially. Since this is specifically not for outdoors or sports activities , its a good daily go-to-work type of sunscreen. This is the Benton Papaya D Sunscreen. It contains Papaya Fruit Extract, Water, and Papaya Seed oil. It’s rich in Vitamin A, C, and E. This is suppose to be a physical and chemical sunscreen with minimal white cast. It’s suppose to improve your complexion with it’s anti inflammatory and antibacterial properties. I appreciate that Benton is concerned in great ingredients. It’s nice for a sunscreen to do more than just being a sunscreen. However to be honest I don’t like this formula. It leaves my skin feeling very tacky after application. I struggle to blend this into my face because it leaves me with a white cast. I know I have other sunscreens that perform without a white cast and difficulties blending. This is only SPF 38 PA +++ and I have many sunscreens that are higher in SPF and don’t have that thick consistency. I don’t think this product is worth $20. However, I am thankful that 0.8L helped me try this product.

Hey loves- so I have been looking for a nice sun cream for a while, one that moisturizes but doesn’t go on cakey or make me feel oily. I will say-this papaya-d suncream does all that! I’ve tested this product out for a week and it holds up well with or without makeup. I don’t like to wear foundation everyday, and one thing I really like about this cream is that it gives your skin a really nice dew-like glow ✨ without looking too shimmery or anything. There is a light scent, but not too strong. The product also spreads well and you don’t need much to cover your face/neck. I plan on adding this into my routine regularly! Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream Benton is such a popular K-beauty brand that you might have heard one or two of their best seller Benton Fermentation eye cream or their Snail Bee High Content Lotion. Benton is a brand everyone knows, raves and trust. Backstory: One of the earliest Asian skin care discovery I had is how great Japanese and Korean sunscreens are. They tend to be lighter, hydrating, applies easily with minimal or no white cast as opposed to western sunscreens where they tend to be heavy and leaves white cast. My first few haul from Japanese or Korean beauty focuses mainly on sunscreen and serums. And, this is saying a lot, but I haven’t found an Eastern sunscreen that I don’t like. I may or may not be a sunscreen hoarder. (haha) Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream has SPF 38 PA +++. It contains both physical and chemical sunscreen protection, Aquaxyl which is a moisturizing agent and Papaya extracts that helps vitalize your skin. As oppose to other Asian sunscreens I have tried, this leaves a little white cast. I was hesitant to whether I like this product or not but after a few minutes it settled nicely. My husband even noticed how supple my skin looked (and he never notice anything. LoL) Smells heavenly: mild citrus but NOT lemony. Those who are sensitive to smell may even tolerate it. I did see an increase sebum production that at about 3 – 4 hours of having it on. Nothing bad but not great for oily skin. Combination skin should be okay. Dry skin would be perfect. That being said, this is definitely not your sunscreen for any outdoor activities. This is the perfect sunscreen for no makeup days IF you plan to do light activities and maybe for winter. Price: $20 per 50g @Stylekorean. Well here I am again, many apologies if you’re sick of me... here’s another hasty review with no time to really test drive a product, but hey, you do what you gotta do 🤷🏻‍♀️ when delivery is overseas and my timer is up 📦 I’m a HUGE fan of Benton and their products and I can proudly say I leaped at the chance to nab this Benton Papaya D Sun Cream SPF 38 🍇🍉🥝🥥 it contains loads of papaya extracts, along with jojoba & safflower. It’s consistency is runnier than my current sun cream, it does take a second to absorb and there was no detectable white cast. Once it did absorb, my skin was bouncy and hydrated and it paired well under makeup. I’d definitely give it 5 stars but I cannot get over the smell. I guess I’m not tropical enough because I’m attempting to compare the smell to papayas, but it’s not ringing a bell. I purchased this product for a small fee from @0.8l_usa in exchange for my honest assessment. Smell aside, I’m still in love with @benton ❤️❤️❤️❤️

BENTON’S Papaya-D Sun Cream SPF 38/PA+++ Impressions: Nice little sun cream from Benton that features 55% papaya fruit water rich with antioxidants & vitamins A, C, & E to nourish skin. SPF protection is 38 and the PA is “+++” to handle UVA rays. I provided pics to summarize my experience with this cream. I apply it as always as the very final step of my AM routine. The texture is thick & creamy. The bottom right pic shows how much I apply. Yeah, I’m generous but I’m not about to skimp on sunscreen as I’d rather be safe than sorry. The top right pic shows a progression from left to right. The left hand pic shows my natural skin tone before applying; the middle one immediately after applying & then the far right shows how it looks 15 minutes later. You can notice the white cast in the 2nd pic but as you can see from the final one, it’s mostly disappeared to leave a fairly natural appearance that pretty much matches the first. It does feel a little thick on and since it’s both a mineral & chemical sunscreen, I do get a bit of a tingle as it sinks in, nothing crazy but no doubt from the chemical side. Something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to chemical sunscreens. In the long run however, I didn’t notice any lingering irritation from it and it really does feel super moisturizing throughout the day. I am a little wary with it given that I don’t have the best luck with chemical sunscreens. They’ve been known to fry my skin at times but my moisture barrier is super healthy these days so it seemed to handle this combination mineral/chemical sun cream A-ok. I probably wouldn’t elect to use this before an exercise session in the hot sun because I think that would for sure irritate my skin but it’s great for regular daywear & holds up well under makeup. It might be a little too thick & moisturizing for oily skin types but if you’re on the drier side, I think you’d appreciate this formula as most mineral sunscreens rely on zinc oxide which can be very drying & not the most ideal makeup primer. At $20 for a 50ml tube, I think it’s actually a very good deal. I could definitely see myself repurchasing this in future. 🌞👍🌞👍🌞👍
