I was super intrigued when I heard about the Chicago Cica Spot balm because I loved the idea that the same product could help dry patches AND clear up my breakouts. As someone with dry skin and occasional bouts of adult acne, I knew this product would be perfect for me. What the product claims: CICAGO’s Cica Spot Balm targets problem areas on contact and helps clear out blemishes. This concentrated balm blends into the skin for an instant relief on dry and irritated areas. Soothes and calms redness while helping to repair skin barrier. My experience: I’ve used this product on some breakouts... particularly when I’ve picked at something I shouldn’t have and wow have I been impressed with the results. I got to use this product at the perfect time because my acne has been horrible lately. I used this spot balm on areas all over my face, and applied the product towards the end of my evening skincare routine. I would keep the product on overnight while I slept, and would wake up some improvement to the areas that have been giving me trouble.

Its literally everywhere so of course its hardly surprising that company like Cicago would come into existence with a focus on cica infused ingredients. I decided to take their balm out for spin since I have had pretty excellent results with the cica/centella trend historically starting with my first balm from La Roche Porsey - Cicaplast. . . . IMO that says it all the min a product starts burning my unbroken skin I'm at a loss regarding the formulation. Then when I looked at the ingredients I also noted the centella is so far down in the ingredients list - 26th. Why would a brand that concentrates on the inclusion of centella as a main ingredient have it so low on the list of ingredients? In any case I did decide to try this product again & got the same result. More outbreak across the areas where I dotted the balm. Sigh I guess this product just isn't for me. Something about the formulation totally disagreed with my skin such that I stopped using it totally. . . . And now for a late night first impressions, the @cicago_official cica spot balm ☘ . . . It has a nice kinda leafy sweet scent and texture wise it's more creamy than oily imo. If anything it comes off a touch waxy which is probably why it's meant to be a spot treatment and not an all over face cream. In the short time which I've used it I didn't quite like it as a spot balm, it didn't seem to do much for me in terms of bringing down inflammation but I did really like it around my eyes. It feels a bit like it make a barrier on the skin, but not like a mask. More like you put the thiccest cream on and want your skin to be soft and protected. Now aside from the fact it didn't work well on my blemishes, the one minus is that the normal price is 41usd ... which to me is a bit too high for this cute little tube and I paid a very reasonable 3.99 for this from @08l_usa. If you're tried it let me know! Let me say I am in love with this spot cream. I mixed a new product with a new product and my skin said”Not gonna happen Mama!” Luckily this came just before I broke out. I purchased the @cicago_official cica spot balm at a trial fee from @0.8l_usa in exchange for my honest review. On to the claims of this product: 🔹targets dry skin, irritations & blemishes 🔹repairs irritated & damaged skin 🔹concentrated natural ingredients soothe & calm redness, giving instant relief 🔹repairs & strengthens skin barrier Since this is a balm, it has a thicker consistency but it’s easily spreadable. It has a light scent but it doesn’t linger. It can feel a little heavy on the skin, so as the name indicates “spot balm” definitely use it as a spot treatment. It doesn’t absorb quickly into the skin but it does leave the skin feeling very moisturized. I used the balm on the sides of my nose as it was weirdly dry, by the next day it was no longer flaky. I also used this on my son as he had a dry rash, again by the next day his skin was feeling much softer. I definitely recommend this cica spot balm👍🏻

As I’m about to finish my favorite spot treatment so I figured I would test out another one before I end up running out. You don’t want to be caught in an emergency without it! • Centella Asiatica is an ingredient that is calming to the skin while helping restore your moisture barrier. The @cicago Cica Spot Balm is a concentrated version of centella with all the extra juices. The texture is cream like, so don’t expect the thick balm like texture you are used to. • Once applied, a little goes a long way. It is suppose to help lower redness, and it does as I tested it on my bug bite. The bug bite itself did go down in redness, but the area around not so much. I’m thinking because penetrated in my skin quickly from the open wound. It does take a bit longer for the balm to absorb in comparison to my gel texture spot treatment. • As for long term fading results, I haven’t used it long enough to show these results. @cicago_official Cica Spot Balm Cicago is the new natural dermo-cosmetic brand offering products that are dermatologist tested and cruelty-free. All products are based on centella asiatica that helps with inflammation, redness and blemishes, they are also very gentle, designed for all skin types and good for even the most hyper sensitive skin types. Balm claims to provide instant relief to troubled skin areas, to soothe and calm redness and help with blemishes. So, obviously this seems like a product you’d want close by! It contains castor seed oil, arachidyl alcohol (fatty alcohol), scutellaria baicalensis, sericin (protein created by silkworms), snowparsley, mistletoe, cypress, shea, bergamot, centella, paeonia, licorice, chestnut, and willow bark extract. Thoughts - it has a medium thick consistency, soft texture, white color and very mild scent. It glides easily onto the skin but absorbs slowly and leaves a very faint film which isn't that big of the deal as it is a spot treatment product. I’m dealing from hormonal acne and redness from time to time so this is very helpful for me. I'm not a big fan of any patches as they usually they don't work for me, so I prefer spot treatments. Especially spot treatments that actually work, such as this one. I had 3 blemishes (2 on jaw line, one on temple) that were very angry, red and one of them was very painful that bothered me immensely. I used this cream immediately after receiving it on those spots and felt relief immediately. No-- my blemishes didn't disappear-- but redness and discomfort dissipated very fast. After three days, 2 of them looked almost gone and the bigger and angrier one on my temple looked small and almost healed, so I stopped using this treatment. After a short time the one healing became red and painful (the other two were gone) so I started using this treatment again and after a few more days this one was gone too. Overall, great blemish/red spot treatment that works-- really works. It doesn’t make miracles happen, but then again no other product really does. CICAGO Cica Spot Balm has been helpful to have on 🤚🏻 since receiving. I got irritation from testing another product on my neck, and this spot balm was my cica-go-to. 🙄 So sorry for always making these corny jokes. Seriously though, it helped calm and soothed that area substantially 👍🏻. This creamy #cicago balm blends easily into skin and feels almost silky once blended. 👃🏻 There is a subtle fragrance. IMO this smells faintly like Froot Loops. It's not a strong smell, but it's there. 🤔What I found puzzling about this is that the namesake ingredient isn't even listed on the IL until much later. Glycerin, allantoin, and panthenol (which are helpful in #soothing and moisturizing the skin) are up higher on the list than the Centella Asiatica Extract aka #Cica is. ☺️ If you have #sensitiveskin, #dryskin or have #acneproneskin, this is something that would work well for you. It helps relieve dry, irritated areas and calms #inflammation and redness. Place this balm on any spot that ails you. Would I repurchase? That's tricky! #cicaspotbalm is a great product that works wonderfully. However, a 1.01 fl oz/ 30ml tube of this retails $41 - pretty high IMO when compared to Dr. Jart's Cica line. #drjart line is about the same cost, has the entire Centella Asiatica complex aka more cica for your buck, and performs better IMO. After coming to that realization I slather it on for the next couple weeks and I saw a significant improvement in my redness and dry flakes from my retinol. It does help sooth irritation and repair areas in distress but does not dry up a pimple for anyone who assumed like I did! Lmao I need more sleep!
