This product has been floating around for a bit, and I'm sure many people have probably seen it or even tried it out. After having a successful go with mandelic acid in general, I was confident enough to give this a try. Ever since the early days of my kbeauty journey, I loved toners that also double as gentle exfoliators. And I think this is one that I might just keep in my routine. I only had maybe about 10 days with this product, but I think it has made a bit of difference in my skin texture. Definitely not as rough and "bumpy" as before. I don't expect my skin to be miraculously baby but smooth with just a few tries, so I'm satisfied with these slow and steady results. Overall less dull looking than before. Granted, I was on my period during this time, so hormones might have made my skin worse and then all better with or without this product. So I'll have to keep using this further to really see. But I have hope because the spots on my neck and chest that I've also swiped this on is also smoother in texture. So far so good!

I suffer from acne, especially inflamed, cystic acne, so I’m on a topical medication that I apply nightly, and I’m not supposed to be using any acids or harsh products in conjuction with it. It’s been really hard for me not to use any acids in my daily skincare routine, so this super gentle exfoliator has been a perfect fit for using only a few days a week. Most of my acids and exoliators dry out my skin, so I have to add on extra products into my routine that are hydrating, so my skin doesn’t flake, but I haven’t experienced that with this product. The description says that it’s supposed to cause very little irritation, but if you have any open wounds (aka areas where I pick at my face), IT. STINGS. LIKE. A. M***F*** [fair warning]!!! Overall, I haven’t experienced any noticable changes, and most importantly, I haven’t had any negative reactions from it. So I definitely think this product has potential for long-term use, so I’m going to continue using it 2-3 times a week, when my skin needs a quick detox, in place of my stronger acids. *Disclaimer: I purchased this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

Wishtrend's Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water is one of those items I had heard nothing but good things about; how it's become some people's holy grail. I am gonna have to say that I didn't get much from this product. I so wanted to join the other bloggers and literites in heavily praising this prep water, but I can't. This AHA is suppose to be so mild that it could be for daily use on all skin types; helping to diminish hyperpigmentation while increasing moisture and the ability to absorb the products in your skincare regimen. There were no positive outcomes using the prep water, no improvements with skin texture, no hydration, and no assists of other products being absorbed in my routine with its use. Actually, after each use, it caused oiliness to my forehead and caused me to sweat a bit. (WTH) I really was hoping to love this product, but I guess it's not for me. I have actually reviewed the Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water by Wishtrend before, but I’m in a different environment than I was then and my skin has been really wonky lately. Like its name suggests, this has a very watery consistency, so I apply it with a cotton pad during both my AM and PM skin care routine. Because it’s a gentle exfoliator, I don’t feel any discomfort or burning or tingling when I apply it whatsoever. It’s very comfortable to use. After using this again for the past few weeks, I can definitely tell that it is making an impact on the texture of my skin. I can also tell that it’s helping to keep my blemishes at bay. On to the claims of this product: 🔹helps improve skin texture 🔹removes whiteheads 🔹hydrated and smooths the skin 🔹suitable for all skin types including sensitive and acne prone The skin prep has a watery consistency that absorbs into the skin quickly. It doesn’t have a discernible scent. I like to apply the skin prep with my hands instead of a cotton pad. The first time that I applied this to my face, there was a stinging sensation. After using it multiple times after that, my face was fine. It didn’t leave my face dry or stripped either. It does leave my skin sticky/tacky which I don’t like. I love trying different types of exfoliating acids so I was excited to try the Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5 Skin Prep Water. The skin prep waster was clear and almost unscented. The product went on smoothly with no stinging. A great addition to my acid lineup!

I’ll preface by saying I’ve been bad and not exfoliating regularly, my go-to being 10% lactic acid, and I experienced some irritation at first. At first, my skin felt fine, but the following day I felt sensitivity when I switched off and applied my vitamin C serum instead. The vit C stung a bit and my skin felt overly sensitive (when it never reacts to Vitamin C). I gave my skin a break and reintroduced it a few days later and experienced no irritation or dryness. The exfoliator isn’t super hydrating but it isn’t drying either. I made sure to use other hydrating and soothing products to make sure my skin barrier is kept in tact as well. Thanks to 08l_usa and @wishtrend I got to try Mandelic Acid 5 Skin Prep Water. Me and my daughter have both used this product and it works wonders. I have dry skin and my daughter has oily skin but it works just as well for both of us as it is meant for all skin types. The smell may not be as pleasant but the results make it worth it. Not only does is remove all of the dead and dry skin that I have but it also helps give me a natural glow on my face. It gives the appearance of a much healthier skin and it smoothes out any rough areas around that may be there. And after exfoliating it leaves your face feeling as smooth as a baby. I would recommend this product to anyone who may have any facial issues.

I received this full sized product for a trial price of $3.99!! The Mandelic Acid 5% skin prep water is "a gentle exfoliating water developed to smothen skin tone and texture." I for one have very senstive skin which can make it peel at times if it gets too dry. When I first read that this product would gently exfoliate the first layer of skin, I was estatic. I underminded the acid in this product by far. After one use, it sucked all the moisture out of my skin. I had to layer on the moisturizers and oils for two weeks just to get my skin back to the original texture. It definitely did exfoliate the areas that i needed exfoliated, however only a drop or two is needed for this effect. This is not a product for daily use, it is more of a biweekly or monthy alternative to chemical exfoliants. This product may also work better for people who have much worse acne than I do. Overall, I give this 3/5!

Mandelic acid 5% skin prep should be on your sink for daily use. it hydrates and gently exfoliates (no peeling) your skin. Mandelic acid is an AHA. It improves your undertone ( no freckle lightening), makes its clearer and brighter. It also has Beta Gluten which is an anti inflammatory and keeps your pores cleaner and thus reducing acne. I find it reduces pore size and black heads. This will be a year round product for me.

WISHTREND Mandelic Acid 5 Skin Prep Water Impressions: I’ve been using the WishTrend Mandelic Acid 5% for a couple of weeks now & have found it to be a gentle & effective alternative to glycolic acid. I’ve been a devoted fan of glycolic acid for many years until recently when it seemed my skin got too sensitive for it. The molecular size of glycolic acid is very small which makes it ideal for penetrating many layers of skin however this can also be a drawback, making it far too penetrating for sensitive skin. In contrast, mandelic acid has a far larger molecular size so it only acts on the top layers of skin to break down sebum, open pores, & gently exfoliate skin making it perfect for sensitive skin types so I was eager to try this out. I use it in the evenings in the actives stage following a double cleanse & a quick swipe of pH adjusting toner. The formula is very thin, lightweight & watery so I apply it to my face by pouring a small handful into my palm & patting directly into my skin. It’s extremely gentle as it sinks in with no tingling or sticky residue. Generally, as with all actives, I wait about 15-20 minutes for it to fully sink in & do its stuff before I move on to essences. Since incorporating this into my evening routine, my irritated skin has improved tremendously. So much so that I can return glycolic acid to my routine a couple of nights a week while rotating it with the mandelic. It definitely keeps the pores cleaned out while allowing me to maintain a healthy moisture barrier. What a lifesaver!! I find acids to be a necessary but volatile element in my skincare routine so mandelic acid is a great way to manage things when my skin gets overly sensitive. Additionally, the watery nature of WishTrend’s Mandelic Acid makes it super easy to introduce during the toner or active phase of your routine unlike other formulations I’ve tried. First, lets clarify the circumstances: I purchased this with great excitement from @0.8l_usa for a discounted price in exchange for a candid review. Why with great excitement? I’d seen a lot of Instalove for this toner. I’d had my eye on it. I was creepin’. So when I saw my opening, I took it! And I’m glad I did. Here’s what it is: A watery, exfoliating toner that also hydrates thanks to soothing ingredients. Think if this as Beauty Water with more AHA. Mandelic Acid is in the AHA family and derived from almonds. Its large molecule size means it’s suitable for sensitive skin because it won’t penetrate as deeply, like glycolic acid will. But mandelic acid is also oil soluble, like a BHA (salicylic acid), meaning it can work in the pore as well as on the surface of the skin, making this great for clarifying and anti-acne, as well as for overall cell turnover. I’ve also seen many reviews about mandelic acid by women with darker skin tones, praising its ability to help with hyperpigmentation in a way that works best for their skin. Yep it’s a little workhorse! And thanks to beta-glucan, Centella asiatica extract, and sodium hyaluronate, the exfoliating aspects are nicely balanced out with hydrators so your skin doesn’t feel dry or tight. Here’s my experience. The directions say to splash it on your face after cleansing or use a soaked cotton round for more (manual) exfoliation. I poured about two shakes’ worth into my palms and patted it in. Sometimes I’d feel a slight tingle, sometimes there’d just be the slightest hint of a cooling/warming effect. Maybe I’m just lucky with my splash placement, but this technique worked best for me and never stung my eyes. There is the barest hint of a slip there thanks to the hydrating aspect. Usually I move on quickly with my routine, but one night I stopped after this step and let it fully absorb, and my roommate commented that my skin was glowing. To me it gives results close to what Good Genes can do. Acne kept at bay, skin smoothed, and a glow achieved. I’ve used this every day since it arrived, sometimes morning and night, with only good results. If you have sensitive skin, I’d try rotating it in every few days because after all, this is still an acid toner. I didn’t see any help with my pigmentation, but I don’t expect results that fast with an issue that stubborn. I did notice smooth, clear skin, and I enjoyed using it. Wishtrend advises against using this with other AHA’s or Vitamin C. I did and it was just fine, but be careful about overdoing it here. It’s up to your skin barrier health. Leaves skin tone even, and softens texture. 🌟Uses: Recommended after cleansing, using either a cotton ball, or splashing lightly into face. Pat lightly until absorbed. I preferred using cotton rounds with ridges on one side for more exfoliation. 🌟Packaging: This is a (4.1 fl. oz.) dark plastic bottle. The liquid is clear; with a faint whiff of alcohol, but it went away quickly and didn't bother me at all (and I hate the smell of alcohol). 💰 Cost: $23 on @amazon 🌟 Other Benefits: Helps to boost the effects of other products. Good for dry and aging skin. 🌟Main ingredients and their purposes: Mandelic Acid-AHA Ingredients: helps improve pigmentation to restore aging skin. Beta-Glucan: moisturizing, relieves redness, and soothes. Panthenol: (Vitamin B5) is a moisturizer, and prevents itching & irritation. Centella Asiatica Extract: great for regenerating damaged skin, especially for sun damage. Sodium Hyaluronate: provides moisturizes while exfoliating. My opinion: I recommend waiting to use this if you have a sunburn or very irritated. It can sting a little in that case! Other than that, I think this works well. After about 12 days, my skin was definitely smoother and softer. How I used the product: I cleansed, skipped toner and used this product, followed by a good moisturizer. I think the longer it is used, the better the results will be.
