MINI REVIEW featuring: @wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Toner 💧 . This is actually my first time trying Wishtrend product as well incorporating mandelic acid in my routine. Similar to glycolic and lactic acid, mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that is commonly used as a chemical exfoliator. It derived from hydrolysis of bitter almond extract and has a larger molecular structure compared to other AHAs. That means it takes longer for the acid to penetrate the skin surface so it’s less irritating. . This toner is hydrating and has watery consistency which makes it convenience to layer skincare products. There are some acne-fighting ingredients listed such as centella asiatica, licorice root, and chameleon leaf extract. Also, I am very pleased that this toner is formulated without alcohol 🎉 YAY! I have sensitive sensitive/acne prone skin and personally did not experience any tingling or irritation from using this toner. I think my skin has been used to AHAs since I have been using glycolic acid toner and serum for awhile. Overall, I am impressed with this toner and will definitely repurchase it again. I rate it 5/5. Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water by @wishtrend. When I saw this product offered as a try now campaign from @0.8l_usa, I knew I was interested in trying it. It is an exfoliating water containing Mandellic Acid, which is gentle enough for even sensitive skin. It removes dead skin cells and helps prepare your skin to absorb the products you use in the rest of your skincare routine. Another notable ingredient is Centella Asiatica extract, which is very soothing to skin. I love watery toners/chemical exfoliants. The skin prep water is a clear, thin liquid in dark packaging (it should be stored away from sunlight) with no added fragrance that I could detect. Its natural scent was slightly medicinal but not at all bothersome. Upon patting this into my skin, I could feel an extremely gentle tingling sensation. This did not bother me or my skin at all; however, if you are having any irritation or acne, I would avoid using this until your irritation clears, as it will sting in those areas. My skin on my hands is always irritated due to over-washing, so I definitely noticed this when the water was on my hands while applying it to my face. I also noticed it once on my face when I didn't realize I had a small blemish until this was applied to the area. As for results, I did notice my skin texture was much improved. My skin was exfoliated and really soft after using it, and it did seem to help my other skincare products absorb more effectively. I also used this daily for a week, and I found it to be very gentle. I don't normally use an acid every day, but for testing purposes I tried with this one, and there were no issues. This is product is by Wishtrend and it’s called the Mandelic Acid 5 Skin Prep Water. This product claims to exfoliate, hydrate, and be hypoallergenic. There are three key ingredients in this product 1) Mandelic Acid- which is an AHA with antibacterial properties 2)Panthenol- aka Vitamin B5 that promotes cell regeneration, prevent inflammation and itchiness. 3)Sodium Hyaluronate- works as a humectant to help keep the skin hydrated. The big question is: does this work? HECK YES. I knew from the first application that it produced results! My skin was visibly smoother and Softer. Not only was I impressed with the way it transformed my texture but I surprised that my face didn’t feel super tight or uncomfortable. I was expecting a stinging or tingling effect during the application process but was so surprised that I felt nothing. This leads me to believe that those with sensitive skin would really appreciate this product. The consistency of this is very thin and like to use this as a toner. Typically I apply it with a cotton pad and it works wonders. I have incorporated this product into my skincare and I’m extremely happy to say this is a new favorite. The hole on the cap allowed the perfect amount of liquid to be dispensed. • 💦Scent: I did not detect any fragrance. • 💦Ingredients: I tried to take a picture of the box but the shiny, reflective surfaces of the box were not being cooperative. Please see second picture obtained from manufacture’s website. • 💦 Performance: I used this acid water four different ways: - Poured a small amount onto palm and applied to freshly washed face -> the prickling, pin-prick sensations were very prominent. - Poured several dabs onto a cotton pad and applied to freshly washed face -> The pricking sensations felt less and went away approximately 3-4 seconds. - After I washed face, waited 10 minutes, applied some product onto a cotton pad then onto face -> The pin-prick sensations were lessen and went away within 2 seconds. (I prefer this scenario the most) - After I washed face, waited 10 minutes, pour a small amount onto palm and applied on bare skin -> The prickling sensations were a little bit more than the third method. • After two weeks of twice daily usage, I haven’t seen much skin tone improvement but it didn’t cause any additional irritation or dryness. SOME KEY INGREDIENTS: Mandelic Acid, Beta-glucan, Panthenol, Centella extract, Sodium Hyaluronate . EXPERIENCE/THOUGHTS: I didn’t care much of Mandelic Acid before. I didn’t even know there was such thing (I’ve still so much to learn and discover!) up until by Wishtrend released this product. With all the hype, plus people having great results with Mandelic Acid in general, I knew I had to try this one out. I felt like it would be a great addition to the products I use to fade PIH. Thankfully, 08L had a campaign for this. . Prior to receiving this, my skin was still adjusting to the glycolic acid I’ve introduced to my routine a while back. My skin underwent purging with it, which frustrated me because I was trying to tackle the PIH I had. (For my skin, Purge=acne=PIH. Also, I have a very bad habit of picking on them, something you shouldn’t do. I know I should know better!) Some people say that with purging, it gets worse before it gets better. I didn’t want any of that so I decided to stop using the glycolic acid for the mean time. . Then I received this Mandelic Acid. I was so scared to use it at first. I still had two cystic acnes, a result of the said purging, and I didn’t want any more to come out. My knowledge of Mandelic Acids being the most gentle among AHAs + this being just 5% convinced me to try it out immediately, and I am so glad I did. . The product is colorless and watery, with a slight acidic/bitter scent. It’s not overpowering, though and goes away almost instantly. I used a cotton pad to apply this product to my face (I like the added physical exfoliation from the cotton pad), but you can also pat it directly on your skin. It absorbs easily and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. . The following morning, I was surprised at what I saw. One of the cystic acne has developed a head, something that rarely happens to me, and the other one has calmed down! My skin also looked smoother with the CCs on my forehead slightly unnoticeable. The overnight results has encouraged me to try and use it everyday. . I have not experienced any irritations from this product ever since I started using it, even if I use it every night. I did get a few cystic acnes (that ended up becoming PIH again 😓) right before aunt flo’s monthly visit, so I am certain its not because of the product. Helps to soothe skin after exfoliating. Before trying this acid, I was already IN LOVE with Pixi Beauty's Glow Tonic so I was a little scared at switching up my acids. After using this for over two weeks I can honestly say the results have been the same. I do not notice the intense glow that I get from the Glow Tonic but my skin's tone looks so good. I noticed my pores are clear and my overall complexion is more even. Even during that time of the month, my acne was at bay and healed extremely quickly. So I found out what was bothering my skin so much! I purchased the @wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water on the @0.8liter app. Mandelic Acid is known as a more gentle exfoliating acid but it just doesn’t work for my skin. Surprisingly, I am totally fine with high percentage glycolic acid toners. - 🌼 Key Ingredients | Mandelic Acid, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate 🌼 Claims | - Formulated for all skin types and gentle enough for sensitive skin - Removes dead skin cells - Smooths dull, rough skin - Evens out skintone 🌼 Results | It just didn’t work out for me. I think I might be allergic to one of the ingredients. Initially, I was fine the first one or two uses but then I started developing rashes. I’ve stopped using it for a couple of days since I thought I might have over-exfoliated. But when I used it again I found out that this was the cause of my skin sensitivity! Scent: I can’t tell if it has any scents or maybe it does bit too light to the point I can’t pinpoint it. . Texture: Clear and watery liquid . Application: I tilted bottle 3 times on cotton pad or I just put it in my palms, then wipe it away. I use it instead of toning but just 3-4 times a week since I don’t feel like exfoliating my skin everyday. . My thoughts: When I first applied it, it left me the burning and tingling sensation to where I had pimples. But don’t worry, it disappeared after one second (really fast). Afterwards, my skin felt a little bit sticky but putting on moisturizer and everything will be okay! Plus, the hydration is alright but not really impressive However, I didn’t notice any differences at all, I couldn’t tell if it did its job or not. Wow, this toner really exfoliates! I have to use it sparingly, or my skin will peel! This is a good product that truly exfoliates, but my advice for anyone with sensitive skin is not to be too heavyhanded with it or it may cause a bit of irritation and peeling. Used sparingly, it is still very effective.

It's a must-have product for acne prone skin. I have been using this prep water for around two weeks & I can see the difference in the texture & tone of my skin already. It has brightened up my skin & reduced the hyperpigmentation. Also, my skin feels & looks a lot smoother & healthy. I absolutely love this.

Its exfoliation is of low irritation. Improves the tone and texture of the skin. Formulated with mandelic acid, which can be used without causing irritation even on sensitive skin, it also increases the effectiveness of other products. I love trying different types of acids, I say this because I have tried a few such as: glycolic acid, AHA, BHA, salicylic acid, among others. The texture of this product feels like a tonic. I started using it two weeks ago and at night I prefer to use acids at night so that my skin does not get irritated if I expose myself to the sun. I use this product by applying the product directly on my hands and spreading it across my face, tapping it for greater absorption. The first time I used it burned a little, but my skin has become accustomed and it does not happen anymore, I like this product because it leaves my skin soft and helps me with the improvement of my granites. to the illumination of my face, since I see it more revitalized, I tell you that I have not left a granite since I have started to use it. I feel like using it with the cotton pad is kinda wasteful and not as effective as with my hands. It absorbs into my skin instantly without leaving any tackiness or residue. Sometimes I use it during the day for having a flawless, glowing makeup and it also comes with sunscreens that have higher SPF. ✨Results: I’ve used this at alternative nights for the last 2 months and noticed some improvement in my skin texture and tone.
